The Fahrenheit to Celsius Formula
The formula is a two-step calculation: subtract 32 (to offset the zero-point difference between scales), then scale by the ratio of the degree sizes (5/9):
Formula
°C = (°F − 32) × (5 ÷ 9)
Example: 350°F to Celsius
1 350 − 32 = 318
2 318 × (5/9) = 318 × 0.5556 = 176.7°C
